MLK Day is January 16th! Please Join Us for a Day of Service!

January 3, 2012

On Monday, January 16th, City Year New Orleans is hosting a day of service to honor and celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  We will be engaging the local community to perform 12 service projects designed to beautify and empower the community.

This year, we will be spending the day working on a variety of service projects in the Mid-City area of New Orleans.  Mid-City was badly damaged during Hurricane Katrina and is involved in a continued effort to rebuild.   The service day will take place at the Success Preparatory Academy, Odd Fellows Cemetary, House of Prayer Church, Sojourner Truth Community Center, and three areas along the Lafitte Greenway.

Please join us on Monday, January 16th for an inspirational day of service!   Pre-register for the day at https://sites.google.com/site/cityyearneworleans/ or contact Bethany Housman at bhousman@cityyear.org for more information!
