Fourth graders at Langston Hughes Academy have been reading The Tiger Rising by Kate DiCamillo. The story centers around a troubled young boy who stumbles upon a tiger living behind the motel he and his father live in. Through the relationship with the tiger, as well as one with a new friend, the boy explores the idea of prisons, escape, and the chance for a better life.
